Welcome to Herd on The Street

If you know me – or you’ve been around for a while – you may remember something called Herd on the Street

Well… you might notice things look a little different around here.

Okay, maybe a lot different.

Herd on the Street has been an idea of mine for years. It has changed shape, disappeared into the background, come back again and, at one point, I’m pretty sure I was trying to turn it into something it simply wasn’t.

Then real life took over.

Work. Responsibilities. All the things you’re supposed to be doing. Somewhere along the way, I moved further away from some of the things that mattered most to me.

We’ll get into all of that.

Because I have stories.

Stories about horses, people, questionable decisions and moments that changed the direction of my life – sometimes without me realizing it until much later.

That’s what Herd on the Street was always supposed to be about.

The Stories.

The funny ones. The messy ones. The ones that probably only make sense if you’ve ever stood in a barn at six in the morning wondering exactly how your life led you to that particular moment.

Except now, Herd on the Street has a home:

It is officially the blog of Blue Clover Collective.

So, what exactly is Blue Clover Collective?

The honest answer is that it isn’t one finished thing. At least, not yet.

It’s a collection of ideas and dreams I carried separately for years before realizing they were all connected.

And at the centre of almost all of them?

Horses.

I’ve wanted a farm for as long as I can remember – not just a beautiful property with horses standing picturesquely in a field, although I would absolutely take that too.

The bigger dream is to build something meaningful.

A place to work with horses and help them. Eventually, a rescue. A farm. A home. A few businesses that can help support it all – because, unfortunately, farms apparently cost money.

Who knew? 😂

That’s how Blue Clover Collective began.

But let’s be clear: we’re not there yet.

There is no sprawling Blue Clover farm at the end of a country road. There isn’t a rescue filled with horses. And I’m definitely not writing this from a perfectly styled farmhouse kitchen while homemade bread cools on the counter.

…Would be nice, though.

Right now, BCC is the beginning.

And I want to share the journey before everything is perfectly figured out.

The learning. The building. The things that work – and the things that very much do not.

That’s what you’ll find here.

Stories from the barn. Stories about the horses and people who shaped me and brought me to this point. The process of building Blue Clover Collective – and figuring out all the pieces that belong within it. Chasing the farm dream and seeing where all of this might lead.

There will probably be some homesteading and sourdough bread along the way. I can’t help it. I’m a millennial – it’s practically a rite of passage at this point.

There will definitely be opinions. I’m sure of that.

And we have a lot of stories to catch up on.

So, welcome to Herd on the Street.

Stay tuned. Next time, we’ll start at the beginning…
